Job Description

The Jr. Accountant:
Responsible for the general accounting function includes; preparing journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivable aging reports, and account/bank reconciliations. Support the Executive Assistant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. Accountant will provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.

Primary Responsibilities:
Work with management to support company financial goals and objectives, make suggestions on improving financial processes;
Prepare executive level reports for management;
Prepare daily and weekly reports including check register, cash receipts, payment reports;
Generate reports for accounts receivable (“A/R”) personnel of all overdue invoices (“A/R Aging Reporting”);
Create monthly system invoices for tenants/clients and ensure all payments are received in a timely manner;
Prepare and process all reconciliations including bank statements, customer statements, vendor statements, weekly payables, and system data for accuracy;
Work with external auditors on the annual financial statement audits, producing written explanations, reports, variance analysis when requested;
Journalize petty cash reports in accounting software;
Prepare and process payroll in software;
File and maintain payroll documents/reports;
Supervise accounting clerk’s postings and make changes where necessary;
Record supporting information for journal entries;
Enter journal entries into the accounting software;
Ensure that general ledgers are balanced;
Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner; and Prepare, file and pay company taxes.

Experience, Skill, and Educational Requirements:
Associate Degree in Accounting and/or minimum four (4) years of previous accounting experience;
Knowledge of basic accounting principles;
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written in a professional, courteous and knowledgeable manner;
Ability to provide exceptional customer service skills;
Ability to multitask;
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks according to deadlines, urgency and complete deliverables in a timely and professional manner;
Ability to create, edit and analyze Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, PDF files and Power Point presentations;
Ability to provide analyze detail; and
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
