Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer or CFO performs effective risk management and plan the organization’s financial strategy. It is a very important and complex role since an organization can only survive if it actively investigates and safeguards its finances.

A CFO must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader since all relative departments of the organization will be under their command. The goal is to protect the company’s revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.

ACCA or CPA accreditation
Post Graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum ten year’s experience at a Senior Management level with a sound track record of achievement and excellence
Experience in inventory management, taxation, treasury and finance

Sound working knowledge of Accounting systems, processes and policies
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting standards and their applications
High level of computer literacy
Excellent numeracy skills
Excellent Communication skills (oral & written)
Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a strategic thinker
Solid ability to make decision
Must be a leader
Must be flexible and adaptable

Hold monthly meetings with functional department heads in regard to budget v. actual, monitoring and execution.

Construct of Annual Business Plan and Budget.
Construct of 3-5 Year Business Plan and Budget.
Financial execution of Annual Business Plan and Budget.
Effective management, oversight and execution of corporate treasury function.
Effective and tightening of Company’s month end close, veracity of reconciliations and
management informations reports to CEO, audit committee and board.
Creation and execution of Company capital markets ideas and concepts.
Review financial performance against budget, international benchmarks and key performance indicators
Analyze financial trends and critically review internal operations with a view to implement measures to ensure cost savings and tighter internal controls
Effective treasury management to ensure optimum use of Company funds and minimize foreign exchange exposure and liquidity risks that the Company’s assets are safeguarded and accounted for at all times
Effectively communicate with all external and internal contacts including investments houses, Banks, Suppliers, Regulatory and Statutory bodies and ensure compliance and adherence to national and local requirements
Provide effective supervision, direction and leadership to the staff in the Finance & Accounting Department.
Ensure that the Company complies with regulations stipulated by the Anti Money Laundering Act, Financial Proceeds Act etc
Maintenance of accounting control policies and procedures
